A Closer Look
All there is to thinking is seeing something noticeable, which makes you see something you weren’t noticing, which makes you see something that isn’t even visible.

The same can be said about zooming in on a subject with one’s camera lens. When isolating a smaller part of a bigger picture, it allows one to notice what is often not visible when focusing on the bigger picture. On my recent trip to Bhaktapur in Nepal I did just that, and the following pictures tell the story of what I noticed when I had a closer look at the city.
Wow, beautiful photos. There is a story in the details. Love macro photography.
Thank you, Terri.
Great photo story. Curious about the sun imagery. It’s not something we see here, so I wonder where it derives from Nepalese culture. Also, what’s in the bag? The pink and yellow. Silk worm thingys? Oh, and where you find all these great quotes!?
Thanks, Lani. I am a sucker for and collector of good quotes, so whenever I encounter one I like I save it. One just never knows when it will come in handy. I have no idea where the sun imagery derives from, while the bag contains fish food. One of the ponds is filled with carp to keep it clean, and people buy this to feed them. Not sure what it is made of, but is very light and bobs around on the surface of the water.
I used to collect quotes. I wonder why I stopped! Fish food. Interesting.Huh. Never would have guessed.
Lucky you to be in Bhaktapur……truly a feast to be contemplated. Some great images of a beautiful place ..thanks Trees
Thank you.
The first word which came to mind was TACTILE. I want to reach out and touch these things. The next best is that you brought them in to our living room. Thank you. Beautiful images.
Thanks, Gwen.
Amazing photos! Beautiful.
Another beautiful series of photos ~ the doorway with the pair of eyes really captured my attention. A great shot, but also the idea behind it (entering someone’s world when you enter their house/home). A story that is unique and special (and that is what I love about a long lens). Cheers!
